What's Involved
Site work and foundation. Pouring a new slab or foundation that ties into your existing house.
Framing. Building the walls, floor, and roof structure.
Tying into existing systems. Extending HVAC, electrical, and plumbing into the new space.
Roofing. Matching the new roofline to your existing roof.
Finishing. Insulation, drywall, flooring, paint, trim, and everything else that makes it part of the house.
Permits and inspections. We handle every permit, inspection, and code requirement.
What It Costs
Additions generally run between $200 and $400 per square foot in our area depending on complexity, finishes, and whether you are adding plumbing. A 400 square foot family room addition might land between $80,000 and $130,000.
01How long does an addition take?+
Most additions take three to six months from breaking ground to final inspection. Larger second story projects can take longer.
02Will I need to move out during construction?+
Usually no. We seal off the existing house from the construction area so you can keep living normally.
03Do I need an architect?+
For most additions, working with an architect or designer is a good idea, and we help coordinate that.
04Will an addition increase my property taxes?+
Yes. Adding square footage to your home will increase your assessment. The increase is usually well worth it given the added value and usable space.
